Norbert Seeger became known for his hall full of Rolls-Royces. Now the judiciary is investigating him for excessive fees.

There's excitement in the region. One of the most well-known and "colorful" lawyers and trustees received a visit from the authorities this week.

His name is Norbert Seeger and he runs Seeger Law Firm, which has come under the scrutiny of investigators. When contacted, the public prosecutor's office stated that they would "neither confirm nor deny" any charges.

Seeger himself was unavailable last night. Shortly before 6:00, no one answered the phone at his office, and he didn't respond to an email.

According to one interviewee, a Liechtenstein bank had filed a suspicious transaction report with the authorities, alleging "excessive fees." The extent of the investigation and its outcome remains to be seen.

Seeger is a licensed lawyer and holds a doctorate. "For 30 years, the name SEEGER has stood for trust, quality, discretion, individuality, and competence," he writes on his website .

Seeger loves appearing in the media . His "bunker" built for the super-rich, full of gold, jewelry, paintings, and luxury vintage cars, made him famous.

His collection of vintage Rolls Royce cars is particularly noteworthy . It's exclusive and costs a lot of money—not only to purchase, but also to maintain.

The Seeger case shines a spotlight on the trustees in the principality, who are world-renowned for their foundations.

With the abolition of banking secrecy, pressure on the industry is increasing. Instead of freeing themselves from the shackles of the past with a single major overhaul, Liechtenstein's fiduciaries are waging a defensive battle from the trenches.

They only give up as much ground as they need to. They want to maintain their foundation law, which is record-breakingly lacking in transparency, for as long as possible.
